Program
“Houston: Gateway of the Americas” will start with a Breakfast Welcome by Bob Harvey, President & CEO of GHP. This will be followed by Amb. Juan B. Sosa’s overview of the conference, highlighting the importance of Houston to the Americas and vice versa, and the position of the Houston Region to become the natural partner of the Americas. Amb. Sosa will also speak as Houston as a region, which makes a powerful case for being the Gateway of the Americas.
In the morning there will be four segments, each concentrating in key sectors of the Houston Region economy. The luncheon will feature Commissioner Adrian Garcia, representing Harris County, the most important county in the region; he will speak about attracting businesses to the Houston Region. In the afternoon there will be four more segments, concluding with an open dialogue among the audience oriented to strengthening the relationship between Houston and the Americas. In closing, there will be a reception at 5 PM at the lobby/terrace of the Partnership Tower.
