Arielle Giordano is Assistant Vice President of US Government Affairs for Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC), one of North America’s largest freight railroads. As the head of US government affairs, she manages CPKC’s US government affairs team at the federal, state, and local levels.
Before the CP-KCS combination, Giordano led US government affairs for CP.
Prior to joining CP in 2018, she served as Counsel for the US House of Representatives, Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials under former Chair Bill Shuster. As such, she shared responsibility for freight rail, passenger rail, commuter rail, high speed rail, hazmat safety, pipeline safety, and all related Federal agencies. She worked on the FAST Act, STB Reauthorization Act, PIPES Act of 2016, RESPONSE Act, STB IS Improvement Act, and the FRA Safety Data Improvement Act, among other pieces of legislation.
While attending law school, Giordano worked for the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary, under Chair Chuck Grassley.
Giordano holds a J.D. from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in Washington, DC and a B.A. in political science and history from Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ. She sits on the Board of Directors for the Washington Urban Debate League and is an Officer of the CUA Law Alumni Council. Giordano lives in Washington, DC.
